FOR THE GROWN-UPS

A little guide to the lab

Starbound Lab is designed to make real-world play the main event. The coding game on this site is a learning simulator; it does not connect to or remotely control Botley.

Set up Botley 2.0
  1. Install 5 AAA batteries (3 in the robot, 2 in the programmer).
  2. Slide the robot switch to CODE and put it on a flat, hard surface.
  3. Press and hold CLEAR on the remote to start a fresh program.
  4. Tap the arrows to build a sequence, aim the remote, and press TRANSMIT.
Science and safety

Supervise experiments, balloons, pebbles, magnets, and small toy pieces. This site has no accounts, ads, or tracking. Progress and your explorer name are saved in this browser. The secret transmission name is used for the message only and is not saved.

Back up an explorer log

Progress stays in this browser. Save a backup file to keep it safe, or restore it on another device. A backup may include the regular explorer profile name, so keep it private.

A hidden birthday surprise

A tiny star beside the welcome greeting hides a surprise. Tap it five times quickly, then enter the recipient’s name. The name is not sent to a server or stored in the browser.
